Halloween in Dayton: What Live Music Fans need to Know
Saturday, October 26th will bring a number of Halloween celebrations to Dayton. Most importantly, live music from some great local bands will be playing at many of the parties. With so many options to chose from it will be hard to decide which one to go to. But no need to worry we have everything you need to know to help you make your choice.
Hauntfest
Perhaps Dayton's most well known Halloween party, Hauntfest is once again returning to The Oregon District. This year music will have live music on not just one but two stages. The first stage, located at the intersection of Wayne and Fifth, will have DJ Edge spinning track. The second stage, located on the corner of Pine and Fifth will feature the local talent, Zane Gerlach, Motel Faces, and DJ Icicle. Admission to Hauntfest is $10 in advance and $15 at the gates. Tickets and more information about Hauntfest can be found by visiting the Oregon District's website.
Oregon District Bars
One of the cool things about Halloween in the Oregon District is that live music isn't just on the main stages. During Hauntfest many Oregon District bars will also have performances from some great local bands. Some notable local band performing includes Cherry Lee & The Hot Rod Hounds at Blind Bob's, The Pullouts at Trolley Stop, and The Transylvania Hell Hounds at Oregon Express. Unfortunately, many of the Oregon District bars will only be accessible to those who have purchased admission to Hauntfest. Also, due to the expected large crowd, many bars will also have an additional cover charge.
More Halloween Celebrations
In addition to the events in the Oregon District, there are many other Halloween celebrations across the Dayton area on Saturday night. Some notable live music includes Arrows of Neon, a Grateful Dead cover band, at Ladder 11, and Hey There Morgan at the recently reopened Wings. In addition to those events, you can find a list of other live music in the Dayton area here.
Wabs-O-Ween
For those looking to celebrate Halloween on the 31st, there is no need to look any farther than Wabs-O-Ween. Taking place at The Yellow Cab Tavern on the 31st, this event features a must-see lineup. Headlining the event is the Cincinnati-based Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle. Joining them on the 31st is The American Landscape and local favorite Amber Hargett.
